Strange Foods of America

Aloha!

We recently spent three long, lovely warm weeks in Hawaii.  The bonus to travelling in July meant we missed out on some pretty horrible winter weather and while we were basking in 28c temperatures we saw that Canberra had sub zero mornings and even snow which is pretty rare.

As we all do when travelling we often went to the supermarket to pick up water, snacks, fruits, wine and the ball or two to toss about while swimming.  I think several people thought we were mad, cracking up and taking photos of everyday foods.  Maybe they are everyday to Americans, but they were hilarious for us.  With the exception of the waffle hot dog, yes you heard right, all these lovely items are available at the local shops.

Mr C loves Cinamon Sugar Toast and was delighted to find this cereal, he ate a single portion and the verdict was "not bad".  I did notice he chose not to eat it again, I think he was being nice.

Of course it is 100% real, we all know that farmers have started growing potatoes in boxes....

Favorite snack of choice for Mr C, I cannot imagine an onion went anywhere near production.

But seriously, we had a fabulous holiday in Hawaii and not all the food was bad.  Next post will show some of the great dishes we enjoyed.  Mahalo.
