I have had a lot of fun over the last week reading about everyone's Christmas food. As I mentioned in my last post Mr ABT's family came over for an early Christmas lunch. Having the family over always presents a challenge as we have one fish eating vegetarian, one that does not eat shellfish or chicken, one that does not eat any type of seafood.... OK, can you see my dilemma? The common denominator is vegetables and salad so we ended up with a mainly vegetarian menu with some lamb and ham to keep the carnivores happy.
With self serve platters of food, everyone gets to choose their favourites and skip the bits they do not enjoy. I must admit that I did miss seafood.....I have plans for a seafood dinner on New Year's Eve!
Twice baked Cauliflower and Gruyere Soufflés
Lemon, Thyme and Garlic Marinated Lamb Cutlets with a Basil Sauce
Rocket and Parmesan Salad
Tomato, Feta and Pickled Red Onion Salad
Freshly cut ham off the bone
Crusty Fresh Bread
We enjoyed our not so traditional lunch and finished off with pudding and custard. Merry Christmas!
