Recommended by a friend and what a great find. Located in a 120yr old former textile factory and warehouse. Discreetly located in Lonsdale street, you climb the stairs to enjoy share foods with a modern take on asian ingredients. The dining room is on the small side, cozy and not crazy loud like a lot of restaurants. I will be back to spend some time at the cocktail bar located another floor up. In the heart of Melbourne's theatre district be sure to book ahead to ensure you don't miss out.
Our first share plate was the Grassfed porterhouse, chipotle rub with a green onion & ginger salsa. Tender, with a ginger hit that lingered.
This was followed by Flame wok tossed vegetables with okonomi sauce and toasted seasame seeds.
We were unsure of an accompaniment, the waiter suggested the Roti bread with lemongrass, peanut & cashew satay. A great choice, though there is steamed jasmine if you would prefer
Our final share plate was the Cantonese style roast chicken, maple bacon & szechuan dressing. Sweet, spicy & crispy all in one dish. Delicious. No need for desert we had sufficient. This restaurant will be on my list when I am next in Melbourne. Apologies for the photo's not my best effort!
