Just the name “Orange Grove” was enough to get me out of bed on this chilly Sydney Saturday morning and head to the local market with my sister. Located on the school grounds of Orange Grove Public School at Rozelle this lovely little market provided a perfect mix of providores, food outlets, market and garden stalls.
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to food to eat there and then. Fresh roasted coffee, wicked cheese toasties, paella, gozleme, Vietnamese pho and bacon and egg rolls. Judging by the line at the B&E stall they are obviously very good.
We opted to share a chicken and chorizo paella, al dente with just the right amount of spice. Nice and warming as it was one of the coldest Sydney days in a while.
Fruit and vegetables were in abundance, choice of organic and non-organic, meat and seafood vendors, and some really great looking artisan bread.
I bought a lovely lemon tart to share with the family at lunch and promptly forgot to take a photo. Next time…
Lovely community market, next time will be warmer, I hope!
